Our Pillars

Theology…..to teach the Bible and confess the Book of Concord.

Education…to strengthen Lutheran catechesis and classical formation in the home, church, and school.

Vocation…..to equip Christians to live faithfully in their callings before God and neighbor.

At our annual conference in June at St. John’s and through articles, we strive to confess the faith and form the faithful by:

  • Proclaiming the whole counsel of God, both the Law and the Gospel

  • Explaining Christ’s teachings in a digestible and applicable way

  • Confessing the faith as it is expressed in the Book of Concord

  • Teaching people about Jesus and His all-atoning work for them on the Cross and the new life we live in Him

  • The Rev. Zachary A. Kreitler

    Pastor Kreitler is the founder of 1580. A graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary—Fort Wayne, IN, he is the sole pastor St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI, the location of the annual conference each June. He is a regular contributor and managing editor. He is blessed with a wonderful wife and many children.

  • The Rev. Peter D. Preus

    Pastor Preus is a cofounder of 1580. He is a regular contributor and managing editor. A graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary—Fort Wayne, IN, he is the sole pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, NE. He is happily married and has been blessed with many children.
